One day we'll fly away...

Such a beautiful day. I awoke my sleeping daughter to come to work with me. But I have such a nice office, I knew she'd love it! (let's not mention the sleeping teen son, shall we?).

Such lovely families who came to do the activity. Relaxed, cheerful, happy, involved (including the fathers - none of whom snuck off for a 11am beer like in previous activities). They'd make great homeschooling families (just sayin').

We had an interesting chat about gliders and bats and other forest flyers and then it was time to decorate the kites with said animals:

We then took those kites down to the beach, where a slight breeze was blowing, the sun was shining (but not too hotly) and the ocean glistened. And they paid me for it!!

And see that blue ocean? After we'd finished up our activity and left happy families with lovely holiday memories, my girl and I, we jumped in that blue-green ocean and washed any remaining worries away with the cleanest, clearest water you have ever seen.

It was summer bliss!

  2. Fabulous! Love the kites, the blue sky and water. And if I focus, I can feel the heat.

  3. I think I lost my last comment. I love your photos! I'm also so glad I found your blog. I have 2 gifties out of a possible 4 (2 tested and 2 too young) and love reading about other people going through the challenges and joys of homeschooling these unique kids. I look forward to reading more about your family! xo

Embroidery Project - Blue Butterfly

I downloaded this pattern as a PDF from Hoop Embroidery Co on Esty as my first attempt at the technique known as "thread painting"...
