Random Monday (err, Tuesday)

The Labour Day long weekend totally mucked up my inner calendar (thank goodness we didn't start Daylight Savings as well). Today is Tuesday, but it feels like Monday - it's still Monday in the US, right? So in this Monday's Tuesday's random musings:
  • I am 43 years old. I have too many grey hairs to pull out now and I have to dye my hair every 6 weeks or so. I have a teenage son who is taller than me. I'm getting ready for my 25th school reunion. So obviously this is WAY TOO OLD for freaking pimples that resemble Mt Vesuvius. Seriously.

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else have a predilection for watching grown men stomp around in swamps? I'm talking Turtle Man. I love that show. Maybe because we don't have swamps. Or snapping turtles. Or maybe the no-front-teeth thing does it for me. One of life's great mysteries...

  • I watched football. Well AFL. The Grand Final. Well, the last 10 minutes, anyway. Balls going backwards and forwards. But the Sydney Swans won for the second time in 79 years. Or the first time in 7. Whatevs - go Swannies! Or something. Hubby scammed acquired free tickets to the NRL Grand Final where he watched the Bulldogs lose to Melbourne. We got to have the remote control for a night.
  • Life is truly not fair sometimes. How is it my son gets beautiful long, strong nails and I get stuck with stumpy fingers? Huh?
Look at those nails! I could put nail polish on those...

On these? Not so much. How are we even related?

What about you?
Do long weekends destroy your sense of time?
Do you still get pimples?
What show are you loving on TV right now?
Do you like football (any sort)?
What did your kids get that you wanted?

  1. Yes. I still get pimples. I am 40. So irritating. My thing is eyelashes. My son has gorgeous eyelashes. I have stubby eyelashes. How is this fair?

  2. Yes, I get pimples. It's so aggravating. They don't match my gray.

My son has beautiful eyelashes, which he got from his father. Again, aggravating.

And football, American or otherwise, is stupid.

So there you go - a visit from the cranky lady!

  3. Long weekends, preferably starting on Friday. I don't like missing Monday.

Yes, 37, and still get pimples.

Modern Family and BBC Life series.

No football or any sport - watching or playing. None of it.

My kid got the curly hair and olive skin I always wanted.

    1. I am enjoying Modern Family too - but it makes Hubby feel squirmy, so we don't often watch it. You can have my curly hair, but I'll keep the olive skin thanks - I've got to enjoy what I've got going for me!

  5. I have pimples, wrinkles and grey hairs, which should not happen. I thought by now I would only have to deal with growing old, not pus as well.
I LOVE the sound of Turtle Man. Think I will have to check him out, ahem, not in a lewd way, of course.
